At my sunny, spacious design studio on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, my assistants and I translate some of the beautiful fabrics that I love to source into the styles that my customers love to wear, among them such classics as the geometric kimono, of silk georgette in black and crème and outlined in red trim, or the A-line vertical dress in one of the dark, rich shades I favor, a luscious eggplant.
A delight in beautiful fabrics has always been one of my hallmarks. I buy materials that I love, then use them to create flattering styles. To create a look and interpret it in an array of materials is very satisfying. Take the classic shirt with top stitching: We’ve done it in linen, in cotton, in just about everything. It’s a basic style that stays with you forever.
I truly love designing – which is why I chose to close my popular store on Amsterdam Avenue in Manhattan. I’ve created fashions for plus size women for a quarter century and enjoy dealing with my customers each day. But running the shop took valuable time away from creating fashion. While I miss the daily interaction with my customers, I find that selling exclusively online gives me more freedom to concentrate on what I care about most: Designing clothing for the fuller figured woman.

The collection is sorted into such categories as plus size dresses, tops and shirts, skirts, pants, coats and jackets, and accessories. There is also a SALE section where bargains can be found. If I have a style philosophy, it’s that women should emphasize what’s best about their looks. When you look good, you feel good -- it’s that simple.
